I have coached and taught parenting to individuals, couples and groups. I have a wide experience of the issues that concern parents, having worked in schools in some of London’s most deprived boroughs, as well as the offices of international law firms and investment companies. I have written and presented workshops and courses for churches, Sure Start projects, parents of children on the autism spectrum, recovering drug users and Youth Offending Teams. I often work with parents who are required to do a parenting course in cases of access or custody following divorce or separation.
I studied education at Goldsmiths’ College, London and I have taught children and adults of all ages, as well as teenagers with learning and behavioural difficulties. I trained in parenting with the national charity Parentline Plus (now known as Family Lives) and I am a consultant for Parenting UK and a member of the Parenting Practice in North London.
I was founding editor of Kids Out, a magazine for London parents, I have contributed to The Guardian and Marie Clare and talked about family issues on BBC radio. I have been a telephone counsellor for Childline and a youth mentor to teenagers sailing with the Tall Ships Trust.
Most importantly, I am a mother.
